About me

I was born in Vienna, Austria, the first of four children to American diplomats. My first enduring view of our country was the outstretched arm of Lady Liberty in New York harbor from the deck of the steamship “United States”. In the 1960s, the Department of State still moved its families and household belongings by ship. I had been dressed by a proud mother in a spanking new and stiff pair of lederhosen looking for all the world like the youngest of the Von Trapp children. My early childhood education consisted of being home schooled by my mother in places like Africa and Central America. We lived in Washington, D. C. between foreign postings. Later I attended boarding schools in Boston and Concord, N. H. My family was living in Sao Paulo when I arrived as a freshman at Duke where I was to study history. A theme that was woven throughout my upbringing was: “To whom much is given, much is expected.” I have tried to live up to this expectation through a marketing career in both the for profit and not for profit sectors. I have been blessed with skill sets that have allowed me to create some wealth for myself as well as to raise money for charity. Being a parent has been another blessing. My daughter, 30 is married in Florida.

I'm looking for a woman who is passionate about her life and me. A woman that inspires me to be my best and loves me even when sometimes I am not. And naturally, I want to be the same for her.
