About me

I am a biologist. I love life, and all that it entails. I was a manual laborer prior to my non-traditional education, and I still have a little country strong going for me. That drive to do a good job put me on the Deans List every year. I love gardening, arboretums, museums, and road-trips for delicious foods. Spiritually, I have been influenced by several Christian religions and grew up beside a monastery where I enjoyed the company of the Trappist monks. More recently I spent a month studying Buddhism and Hinduism, and I developed a deep appreciation for their form of spirituality. I love nature! Camping and hiking are very important to me. I love food! I have liked almost every culturally diverse I have always loved reading! I love animals! All of them, almost all of them. Not a big fan of ticks and mosquitoes, but I understand that they have a role in their environments. I get excited about birds. The magnolia warbler was a big thing for me, as it was the first I have ever seen! don’t sit well, unless there is food, conversation, or a movie. I am a decent cook and I’m good in the kitchen. I enjoy cooking with others, and like incorporating that into family and friendship functions.
